Listening Fitness Programs are provided by LiFT, Instructors, those professionals specially trained to incorporate listening training within their own practice. Recommendation for the program is based on an individual evaluation. Assessment Tools

A Sound Program typically consists of two phases of 30 hours each, implemented at 1 or 2 hours a day. The program starts with the Receptive Phase and is followed by the Expressive Phase after an integration "break" period of 4 to 6 weeks. A Follow-up evaluation is planned 3 months after the end of the Expressive Phase.

The Receptive Phase develops, enhances and fine-tunes receptive listening. Children hear music or chant while drawing or playing, adults relax and even sleep. The sound information modified by the LiFT reaches their ears through headphones. There is no need to pay attention to the sound because the purpose is to train listening to become automatic and effortless.

The Expressive Phase develops self-listening by working on the ear-voice connection through activities such as signing, chanting talking or reading out loud into a microphone. The voice is enriched by the LiFT and fed back in real time through headphones and bone conductor.

A Follow-up consists of completing the Listening Questionnaire for comparison of the differences between the pre- and post- program Listening Wheels. This graphic visualization of the progress accomplished sets the ground for discussion on the benefits of further program (if necessary) and gives an opportunity to make any relevant recommendations.
